About

Autodrome Chaudier

It was in 1992 that, in collaboration with the Lions Club of Vallée-Jonction, the Chaudière circuit began its activities on the grounds of Michel Lessard. At this point, the track is ¼ mile on clay.

Mr. Michel Lessard took over the activities of the track in 1996 and it was at this time that it became the Autodrome Chaudière. Eager to bring some innovations to it, he transformed the track into a 1/3 mile semi-incline circuit, always on clay. In collaboration with Normand Gilbert and Bruno Bégin, Mr. Lessard offers amateurs a truck race on clay. It was François Lessard, Raphael’s father, who won this race.

Constantly wanting to develop the circuit, in 2005, Mr. Lessard redone the configuration to transform it into a paved ¼ mile track the most inclined in Quebec. Its inclination is 11 degrees at the bottom, 14 degrees at the center and 18 degrees at the top. Autodrome Chaudière becomes the most inclined track in Quebec.

The first major race took place on August 26, 2006 with the arrival of the National Series Castrol LMS Québec cars under the direction of Mr. Donald Forté in front of platforms filled to capacity. After the success of this program, executives sign agreements with major series such as the ACT and ACT Castrol Series, the Super Sportsman Qc series, Procam Supertrucks series and the Revstar series.

Meanwhile, the further development of local classes remains an important objective for managers with the Sport Compact, Limited and Kamikaze classes.

In the fall of 2012, a page of history is turned. Mr. Lessard passes the torch to Dany Lagacé and Kevin Roberge, new owners of the Autodrome Chaudière. They are making every effort to transform the premises into the most modern multifunctional motorized complex in Quebec. The investment made the Autodrome Chaudière one of the most beautiful motorsports sites in Canada. It is now thanks to its green walls that we recognize Autodrome Chaudière in photos and videos!

Desiring to raise the bar even higher in terms of programming, this duo signs an agreement with the Nascar Canadian Tire series in addition to ensuring the continuity of the PASS North series, the provincial series and the local classes. The arrival of a Nascar star, Kyle Bush, for the 2013-2014 seasons will have made the site known throughout North America and as some Americans like to say; Autodrome Chaudière, the track with green walls.

During the 2015 season, Autodrome Chaudière M. André Poulin and Yves Pelchat rent the route. A development in the central part allows something new for this leading track in Quebec, the arrival of DMCC Drift. This new development will allow for future years a diversification of activities.

To the delight of fans, he concluded with the help of Kevin Roberge and Dany Lagacé, the coming for a third consecutive year of a Nascar star, that is to say Denny Hamlin # 11 of the Sprint Cup.

Change of owner

In 2017, the Autodrome Chaudière celebrated its 25th anniversary and became officially NASCAR accredited. It was also in 2017 that the NASCAR Late Model class was born, as we find in the United States.

The new directors of the Autodrome Chaudière Vallée-Jonction are proud to welcome you to its high-quality facilities, always having at heart to offer you a diversified program that will meet the expectations of amateurs.
